It was our love for the written word that brought us together. We are five women representing diverse backgrounds: East Coast, Midwest, urban, rural, big and small town. Each of our bios will tell you more. We have reached a point in our lives where we look back on a road that is longer than the one that looks ahead.

We formed a writing group, meeting regularly to share our stories, practice our craft, and critique each other’s work. While some wrote stories about the joys and challenges of our lives, others penned reactions to the world around us. There were short stories for children and poems about life and loss, goodness and redemption. Our pieces offered practical advice and funny but astute observations on the human condition.

That was over ten years ago. While brainstorming our future, we decided to expand our reach. Would there be an audience interested in our life stories and experiences? We wondered which of our essays, reflections, and observations might connect with you, our readers.

We have considerable wisdom under our collective caps, so sharing our thoughts, insights, and anecdotes with you made sense. Confident of this, we begin Words, Wisdom & Whimsy with the wish to grow a community of thinkers in the hope that our writing will resonate with you in a way that has also inspired us.
